I started the day in the morning with a couple of radio interviews, and then I voted at the local polls. Then after stopping off at the Campaign HQ for a little while, I headed over to the location of our Victory Party at the SouthPark Marriott.
After I gave several TV interviews I decided to go back home and take Mic (my dog) for a walk, and visit with Ann before the evenings’ events began.
Eventually I headed back to the hotel, and spent time with my family. It seemed like everyone was there, my brother, sisters, nephews, and nieces – it was good to have my loved-ones nearby for this momentous occasion.
Then after a while, I started getting phone calls from my primary election opponents. I heard from Orr and Graham, and then I heard from my closest competitor Fred Smith. They all ran good campaigns, and I’m honored that they all called me and offered their future support.
Then at 10:11pm, I took the stage, and announced to the packed room that I was the Republican nominee to be the next Governor of North Carolina. They cheered and I was excited. It felt great to have so many people show up and support my campaign!
Once things calmed down, I could finally relax for the first time since I announced my candidacy. But now that the primary campaign has ended, my campaign for the general election has just begun. I’ll be sure to continue to post on this blog to let you know how everything is going…

This past Wednesday was a great day.
I started the day in Greenville where I met some new friends. I then hopped on a plane and went to Wilmington. While there I got a chance to talk to reporters from a couple of different television stations.
My next stop was Raleigh, and I was amazed by the amount of attention that we received. Many of my supporters greeted me and then joined me for a press conference; where there were four television cameras, three print reporters, and one reporter from a radio station.
Immediately after that I went to Greensboro. There I was greeted by even more supporters, and had two TV cameras and some print and radio reporters show up. There was even one Democrat operative who was taping my every move…. the Democrats must be getting nervous about me!
Then I made it to Charlotte, where I was greeted by a huge gathering of friends and supporters. I then held a press conference in front of four cameras, and many reporters. After leaving my home-town crowd, I made my way to Asheville.
It was good to go to Asheville again. It’s quickly becoming my home away from home. I was there three times in three days! After visiting friends, and talking to one last camera crew, I made my way to my last stop in Gastonia, where I met a gathering of folks for dinner.
Then, after that, I finally got to go back home to my wife, Ann. It was really good to see her smiling face! After I relaxed for the first time all day, Ann came to me with a smile on her face. She looked at me, took my hand in hers and – put the dog’s leash in my hand! “Don’t forget to walk the dog,” she said.
Sigh, even though I’m running for the highest office in North Carolina, I still can’t get out of doing chores around the house!

My campaign for Governor has gained a LOT of momentum lately. In just the past few days, we’re been endorsed by the Charlotte Observer, Southern Pines Pilot, and the Greenville Daily Reflector. In addition, I’ve been endorsed by local leaders all over the state – and more are joining.
So, as we’re gaining momentum, I want to encourage all of you to vote in one week or as soon as you can. You can vote early at selected locations, or you can vote on election day at a poll near your home. Either way, the most important thing you can do is vote; and when you do, be sure to pick the republican primary ballot, and vote for me.
Visit the Voting Center on my website for voting locations near you.
Then after you’ve voted, you can come join me at my election night victory party at the Marriott SouthPark. The event starts at 7:00pm.
I’m going to be visiting many counties and towns in the coming days. So be sure to visit my website to check out my upcoming events, and hopefully I’ll see you soon.

This week has been busy, but great. I’m hitting the campaign trail hard, and this week alone, I will visit at least a dozen counties and meet hundreds of new friends.
While on the road, I have had the chance to see and do some amazing things. I’ve also had a great time making friends, and learning more about our great state. But no matter where I go, I am always happy to know that our message is getting out to more and more people. Just look at these recent articles - they prove that we’re making a difference!
The recent polls are in my favor, however there’s still a month until election day. And the only way that we’ll be able to win the May 6 primary is with your help and support. So, please forward this e-mail or the stories above to your friends and family, and get them involved in our effort to change state government.
If you’d like to contribute or get involved in my campaign, please go to my website www.patmccrory.com.
Thanks for your continuing support,
Mayor Pat

It’s been a busy week, but a great one. By the end of this week, I will have visited over a dozen counties, participated in three debates, and met hundreds of great citizens around our state.
While on the road, I have had the chance to do some reading and there are three stories I wanted to make sure you saw. They are a great example of what’s happening around the state.
The response has been wonderful everywhere I go and the momentum is building. With your help, we can continue to get our message out. Please forward along this email or the stories above to your friends and families and get them involved in our effort to change state government.
Thank you for your support,
Pat
